Cervical Spine Surgery (Neck)

Cervical Spine Surgery to Relieve Neck Pain

If conservative treatment, which is usually the first option for treating neck pain, is not relieving your suffering caused by herniated or ruptured discs, spinal stenosis, facet degeneration, or spondylolisthesis, you may need to consider cervical spine surgery.

The most common procedure to treat herniated cervical discs is called Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Spine Fusion (ACDF). A newer procedure, Artificial Disc Replacement, offers many benefits over ACDF for the qualifying patient.

Over half of cervical spine surgeries performed today are done on an outpatient basis. Many cervical spine surgeries also can be performed as a minimally invasive procedure, resulting in less pain and a much faster recovery process.
